The building trades seniors have been working on a 1248 square foot modular house throughout this school year: As part of the two-year program, the students participate in construction of the piers and floor framing, wall framing, ceiling and roof framing, interior/exterior finish and cabinet installation. Students also learn about building codes, blue print designs, plumbing and electrical systems.
At the end of the school year the house will be auctioned to the highest bidder on AuctionInternational.com. All proceeds will go towards building supplies for the next year’s class. The students benefit greatly from this project as they are building an actual house that will be someones home. They really take pride in this project as they learn real world skills.The buyer will be responsible for transporting the house from the school to its final destination and completing the vinyl siding on two sides of the house, since delivering the modular home requires it to be shipped in two pieces.
